Over the last few weeks we have had a few queries about how we calculate points when a match is drawn. We have seen this once already in both the AFL and NRL seasons this year.
The simpliest way we can explain this is:
If the game in which you have nominated your One Pick Tip ends up in a draw you will be awarded half of the “profit” for your selection.
A Recent Example.
Collingwood vs Richmond
In round 2 of the AFL the Collingwood vs Richmond game ended up in a draw.
For those who selected Collingwood at $2.40 – you were awarded $1.70.
How did we work this out?
Well, if Collingwood actually won the game your profit would have been $1.40 – that’s the price above money back, i.e. $1.00.
e.g A Winning Tip = $1.00 + (Your Tip – $1.00)
We take that $1.40 and halve it ($0.70) and add it back to your money back ($1) – therefore ending up with $1.70.
In that same game if you selected Richmond at $1.60 – you would have ended up with $1.30 after the draw result.
Draw Winnings = $1.00 + (Your Tip – $1.00) / 2
Other examples.
Example 1 – You pick a team with odds of 1.80 – after a draw you will be awarded 1.40
Example 2 – You pick a team with odds of 2.00 – after a draw you will be awarded 1.50
Example 3 – you pick a team with odds of 4.00 – after a draw you will be awarded 2.50
Example 4 – you pick a team with odds of 5.00 – after a draw you will be awarded 3.00
At One Pick – even if your selection doesn’t win, you still do!
